Two of JLL’s most important values are our families and our community. Jumping at the chance to bring the two together, we are excited to announce that JLL’s company picnic raised almost $1,300 for ACHIEVEability on April 29!
This incredible day of family fun at the Navy Yard was spearheaded by JLL’s wonderful charity committee. More than 100 attendees joined in, including ACHIEVEability colleagues like Executive Director Jamila Harris-Morrison. We kicked back, played cornhole, and enjoyed some generous donations from Insomnia cookies that really hit the sweet spot.
In the month leading up to the outing, JLL employees contributed to a fund that would allow us to purchase home items like bedding and non-perishable food. Next month, there will be another opportunity to donate, as we gather after work to package the donations for families that ACHIEVEability serves. Finally, we’ll head to ACHIEVEability to drop off the baskets in person.
JLL loves giving back across the region, but this relationship is a special and longstanding one. In addition to working with the organization to paint and help renovate houses, each year JLL sponsors 60 kids that ACHIEVEability serves. Fulfilling the children’s holiday wish lists and delivering gifts to them is always the highlight of our holiday season.
Building on this partnership, we are hoping to make the picnic a yearly event as well. Stay tuned for more information, and if you are interested in supporting ACHIEVEability, head to www.achieveability.org/!
